Your Instructors

All great adventures need a guide - someone to ensure that you get the full experience.  Happily, you have three guides at Four Elements Photo Adventures.

Our instructors have decades of experience not only behind the viewfinder, but also putting boots on rocks at our adventure locations.

All to ensure that you come back with memories for a lifetime, images to proudly hang on your wall, and technique to you can employ on your own photographic adventures.

Below is a bit of information on your instructors.

Cassius Callender

Cassius has been interested in photography since 1984 when he took a summer class in Old San Juan at the age of 14. He received his first DSLR camera as a Father’s Day present in 2006 and his passion for photography was ignited.

His work focuses on capturing landscape scenes during the most colorful times of the day.

Mike Murray

Mike is a self-taught photographer that began his journey in 1981 with a trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Kodak camera in hand, his passion for outdoor photography took off. In 2008 he established North Sand Photography.

Mike's goal is to capture the beauty, solitude and mystery of the natural world. Through his photographs he hopes to create an emotion, stir a memory or generate the beginnings of a new experience.

His work can be viewed throughout the UW-Hospital system, local corporate offices and Midwestern art shows.

Dave Miess

Dave’s photographic journey began in 1975 when he loaded a roll of film in his Dad’s old Zeiss rangefinder. He’s been behind a viewfinder ever since.  He combined his love of the outdoors and photography into a business in 2001.

Dave’s work is regularly featured in publications and art fairs around the Midwest.
