Instructors: Mike Murray, Cassius Callender, Dave Miess
Join us for an unforgettable photography adventure through California’s Eastern Sierra, where rugged mountain landscapes, ancient forests, and high-desert scenery come together to create one of the most diverse photographic destinations in the West.
Our journey will take us from the otherworldly rock formations of the Alabama Hills and the towering granite walls of Mount Whitney, to the tranquil reflections of Convict Lake, June Lake, and Mono Lake.
Just across the Sierra Nevada crest, we’ll explore the iconic landscapes of Yosemite National Park, capturing its legendary granite cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and giant sequoias.
We’ll venture high into the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest to photograph some of the oldest living trees on Earth, where twisted, wind-sculpted pines and dramatic mountain backdrops provide endless creative opportunities from sunrise through sunset and under dark, star-filled skies.
Traveling in late September, we’ll experience the Eastern Sierra at one of its most spectacular times of year, as golden aspen groves begin to glow throughout Bishop Creek and Lundy Canyon, often set against the backdrop of rugged peaks and changing autumn skies. With opportunities to photograph intimate details, sweeping panoramas, dramatic weather, and unforgettable mountain light, this adventure is designed to immerse photographers in the landscapes, seasons, and moments that make the Eastern Sierra and Yosemite truly extraordinary.
